2.01 | The influence of Greek

We are finally back with our podcast!

For the past few months, we have tried to find ways to make this experience even more student-friendly for all of you guys!

we created

~ a website! Yes, that’s right! A brand new website where you can listen to the entire first season and all the new episodes we will release.

www.unlockinggreekpotential.com

a transcript! Now, you can find all the valuable vocabulary with its translation, lesson notes, and grammar inside, all in one place!

Having said all of these, let’s move on to today’s episode:

Greeks were obsessed with saying things as shortly as possible. This idea manifests itself not only in grammar but also in vocabulary. Greeks often use a single word to describe feelings or basic daily needs.

useful vocabulary

  • πεινάω
  • διψάω
  • ζεσταίνομαι
  • κρυώνω
  • φοβάμαι
  • η πόλη

  1. Hi,
I’m sort of a beginner and I love your podcast. However, in my opinion there could be more Greek and less English in it. 😉
    Thank you and kind regards
    Birgit

    • Hello Birgit! Thanks for you feedback, and we’re happy you like our podcast! We will slowly introduce more Greek as the episodes continue. Right now, we still have a lot of things to explain, which would be too hard if we would do that completely in Greek. We will however include more stories, dialogues and Greek conversations as we continue, but we need to make sure you all understand them first 🙂

  2. Hello it has helped me a lot the unlocking greek potential podcast and I think it has helped me improve my listening and understanding of the language.
    Thanks a lot,
    Alkis
